Let me drink!

Today, like Jesus, they ask, "Let me drink!". Jesus wanted us to approach Him, to meet Him in prayer and heart-to-heart dialogue, to talk to Him, to listen to Him, to see His face in the face of a suffering brother or sister.

To live we need water. Water is a prerequisite for life. A man without food can last 8 weeks, but without water a maximum of 7 days. There is not a single living being, plant or animal in whose body there is no water. Water is the source of life - it creates and destroys, it means both life and death.

We use it for cooking, cleaning, showering, and rinsing. Water is used in the production of our food, clothing, mobile phones, cars, and books. We also use it to build our homes, schools and roads, to heat buildings and cool power plants. With the help of electricity generated by its movement, we illuminate our cities and homes.

Water is present in every aspect of our lives.

Venezuelans are people like us, with all their needs. They know how to cook, they like to be clean and tidy, they want their homes and backyards to be beautiful and comfortable to live in. BUT everything is different with them. There is a shortage of everything, including water.

Water comes every 45 days, and in some areas, it comes every three months or more, which is why people are forced to store water in bottles and other containers so that they can share it during the period of no water. It needs to be bought for drinking.

With 14 HRK a month, people need to buy food and water. What to give up? Food, water, clothes…?

Children walk the streets half-naked, by the age of three they are completely naked. Visibly starving men, women, children are waiting for water in front of their houses every day.Water that means life.

I thank all the benefactors who with their donations provided "water of life" to the poorest of the poor, on the island of Margarita, Venezuela.

Today, like Jesus, they ask, "Let me drink!". Jesus wanted us to approach Him, to meet Him in prayer and heart-to-heart dialogue, to talk to Him, to listen to Him, to see His face in the face of a suffering brother or sister.

Let us feed the thirsty, let us recognize the face of Jesus in those of need. It is a great joy to be an instrument in God’s hands.

We pray and help those in need to continually draw grace and drink the water that springs from the rock that is Christ the Saviour, and with conviction we confess our faith and joyfully proclaim the miracles of the love of God, who is merciful and the source of all good.

Zdenac helps with water in a poor settlement Brisas de Los Millanes.

Let them drink too! Provide water to those in need with your donation.
