Jose, Tomas, Mirian, Maria, Caridad and Regla are just some of the elderly people living in financial misery. They are lonely and forgotten, abandoned by society. No help from anyplace!

The walls of their tiny "homes", which mostly consist of only one room, are made of cardboard, sheet metal, rotten wooden boards... Their floors are made of earth, and through dilapidated roofs rain soaks everything inside. Hundreds of thousands of elderly single people live in such conditions. Some of them have never been married, others have lost their families. They are suffering from chronic diseases.

One of them is Miriam, who cannot speak because of the throat cancer surgery. She lives with her brother, a street criminal. We met her at the dump. Although the temperature was barely 9°C, Miriam wore shabby summer dress, a thin vest and torn plastic sandals.

Our association "Zdenac" has already started helping those precious people. Each month, we provide for them 1 kg of powdered milk, 2 soaps, 1 liter of oil, 1/2 kg of minced meat, medicines, matches, salt, rice, ugali (corn flour), firewood, etc.

"Zdenac" also helps them with clothing, shoes, blankets, home repairs (their homes mostly consist of just one room), and other as needed.

We invite you to join us, we cannot do it alone! Let us be merciful and restore dignity and hope to our fellow brothers and sisters in need.
