Nyatike is a small place located on an extremely poor part of this planet. Today 841 children, age 4 to 13, live there. They attend primary school - kindergarten Osiri Maranatha. The teaching staff consists of 15 teachers and 4 educators. Each of them has 45 children per class. The school has only 8 classrooms and 100 school desks. Four to five children usually sit cramped in a bench designed for two. The health care system in Kenya is almost non-existent. Since February, the entire state has been in a lockdown under a strict curfew. Schools plan to begin operations in January, and classes will take place outdoors. Due to the recommended distance and an insufficient number of school desks, students will have to sit on the dusty savannah floor. Sitting on the ground is very difficult for writing and maintaining the concentration needed to follow classes.
That is why we are launching this action, which aims to raise funds for the construction of school desks. We want to help children learn and master the material easily, allow them to continue their education and break out of the circle of poverty.
If you are able and want to help them, donate the amount to make a school desk.
As a token of gratitude, your name will be inscribed on the front of the donated bench by skilled local calligraphers, and you will receive a photograph of a child using it and his or her details via email.
The proposed donation amounts are HRK 64$. The school desk consists of a desk with a compartment and a seat. The price of making one is 6,400 Kenyan shillings = 64$. Please enter your e-mail address or contact next to your name. I am at your disposal for all other information.
