The project was born as a response to the situation of many families living in extreme poverty, whose children do not go to school, but spend their time on the street, trying to survive on hot asphalt, walking barefoot, dirty and in torn clothes. Young children are completely naked or, at best, half-naked.

Many of them live on ranches or in rented houses, without water, electricity, or sanitary facilities.

Their mothers are burdened with the care of obtaining food, medicine, and survival.

The fathers emigrated to other South American countries in search of a better life. They worked as street vendors.

Due to pandemics, this type of work is prohibited in all countries. Difficult communication and an emergency critical situation caused the severance of contact with the family.

Plenty of fathers are in prison, others have been killed because they are a part of gangs of robbers.

Most children live with their grandmothers. The mothers died or have found a new partner.

By contemplating and empathizing with these mothers, grandmothers, and children, we feel God’s call to take care of these children and help their mothers and grandmothers.

Zdenac volunteers are ready to help one or two of these children. They become their spiritual mothers who take care of all their needs during the day: food, clothes, health, school, upbringing, behaviour.

With the consent of the mother and grandmother, the volunteer receives the child into their house during the day and they return to their parents' house before dinner.

Volunteers are poor and therefore unable to pay for food, clothing, and education.

Join us and be godparents - breadwinners who want to finance one or more children. Monthly basic costs are 150 HRK per child. The godfather or godmother receives a photograph and a short story about the child.

The contribution can be paid monthly to the bank account of Zdenac (150 HRK) with the entry “Children of the Blessing” or at once 1800 HRK, which corresponds to one year.

In this way, the godfather(s) regenerates the child of misfortune into the child of blessing. He/she raises a street person and a potential delinquent into a happy person; a child from whom everyone turns their head away into a boy and girl of nice and good behaviour.

A real opportunity for great deeds of mercy. God creates miracles when we put ourselves in His service.
